About

Wakesystems is a non-profit organization founded by a group of young and motivated students who are trying their best to promote water sports, and to develop new technologies in order to facilitate the work of wakeboard and waterski schools.

All founders have previously been members of youthwake.lu, a non-profit wakeboard school in Luxembourg that has been working on the development of young wakeboard talents and the promotion of wakeboarding as a barrier-free and affordable sport.

Our mission

Wakesystem’s mission is to enhance any wakeboard or waterski school’s operations by reducing the manual efforts such as the school’s accounting and member management to a minimum.

With this mission, we seek to promote water sports and make them globally accessible to any person interested.

Why wakesystems?

The idea of wakesystems a.s.b.l (association sans but lucratif / non-profit association) dates back to 2006 when four students from Luxembourg decided to found youthwake.lu, a wakeboard school with one precise aim:

"To provide anyone who is talented, whatever his financial situation may be, the possibility to develop his skills by offering extremely low prices combined with a high class training facility, the best equipment on the market and top level wakeboard coaching. "

It goes without saying that we were not very keen on the whole accounting part of managing a wakeboard school. This is why Sebastian and Chris started developing a unique booking system for youthwake.lu that would automate all daily operations and manage open invoices.

Soon, other non-profits as well as professional wakeboard schools became interested in the flexibility of our system and asked if they could adopt it. Unfortunately, the system was so tailor-made to youthwake.lu's needs that we were not able to supply them a copy.

In November 2008, Chris and Sebastian decided to rewrite the system, make it compatible to the iPhone and also customizable so that every school could adjust it to its specific needs.

It was also clear from the beginning that we did not want make profit with our work because we wanted that all non-profit schools should be able to adopt our system and thus have more time to push the sport and support the youth. For this reason, we offer the system at our cost, and all surplus will be either sponsored or invested in the development of the system.
